STRAWBERRY PICK-YOUR-OWN AND FERME MARINEAU. A PERFECT DAY NEAR THE CITY.

At Ferme Marineau, strawberry picking is much more than just an activity – it’s a true agrotourism experience and an outing that combines fun, relaxation, and discovery for the whole family. Before even reaching the fields, as you pass through the main activity area, you can enjoy our agriculture-inspired games, meet and feed the pony, three goats, and donkey in the mini farm, take a break at the Gourmet Café, and enjoy a light meal, a refreshing cocktail or mocktail, a beer, a glass of wine, or any other delicious treat.

To make your visit even more enjoyable, you’ll find, at the entrance to the farm, an agriculture-themed playground, an artisan ice cream shop, another mini farm with goats, several picnic areas, and a farm market where we offer fresh fruits and vegetables as well as a variety of products prepared from our harvests. If you’d rather not pick your own strawberries, freshly picked strawberries harvested that same day are also available for purchase.

Because our site is located in an urban area, it is quick and easy to access by car, public transit, and even by bicycle.

3) Where are the pick-your-own strawberry fields located and how do I get there?

To access the strawberry fields, we invite you to enjoy nature for a walk on a 800m long developed trail. There is shade and tables along the trail if you wish to take breaks. As it is a gravel and dirt path, the use of strollers or carts with large wheels is recommended; we also advise you to wear good shoes or rain boots if your visit takes place during or after a gloomy day. Carts or strollers are not allowed in the strawberry rows; a baby carrier might be useful if you have very young children. If you do not have a cart, we have some available for you; however, quantities are limited.

4) How to pick strawberries efficiently?

At the pick-your-own site, a manager will assign you a specific area to pick from. It is important to respect these instructions, as we choose the best rows each day according to the ripening of the fruit. To protect themselves from the heat, strawberries hide under the foliage, so you have to lift the leaves to access the great delight.

5) Is strawberry picking suitable for young children?

Children love picking strawberries. As a parent, you are the best person to judge if your child is able to participate. Out of respect for those around you and the well-being of our fields, no one is allowed to run through the strawberry rows. If you are coming with a very young child, don’t forget to bring a baby carrier.

6) Can We Eat on Site?

Absolutely! Our farm bistro welcomes you with a variety of delicious meal options, including our homemade Roman-style pizzas, focaccia sandwiches, grilled cheese sandwiches, and much more. You can also enjoy a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, mocktails, and refreshing drinks before or after your pick-your-own experience.

At our farm market, you'll find fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as a selection of baked goods and ready-to-eat items, including cold pizzas, cookies, breads, and pies.

And to top off your visit, treat yourself to a delicious frozen dessert made with ingredients harvested from our fields. Our artisanal ice cream shop is the perfect place to cool off and enjoy the flavors of summer! 🍓🍕🍦🌻

7) Can we bring our dog?

Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on our site.

8) Is it possible to go strawberry picking in the rain?

When it rains, it is always best to check our social media (Facebook, Instagram) or contact us to ensure we are open and the fields are accessible.

HOW TO EAT AND STORE YOUR STRAWBERRIES?

Once picked, strawberries should be quickly refrigerated as they don't like heat. You can keep them fresh for 2-3 days in the refrigerator. It is recommended to rinse them before hulling them to prevent them from soaking up water and losing flavor.

For freezing, rinse, hull, spread the strawberries on a baking sheet, and freeze. Once thoroughly frozen, remove them from the sheet and place them in a container or freezer bag; they will easily keep until the next season if you manage not to eat them all.

We can't wait to welcome you this summer for strawberry picking!
